Construction Cost Index (CCI), Road Cost Index (RCI), Water Networks Cost Index (WNCI) and Sewage Networks Cost Index (SNCI) in the West Bank during September,09/2019

Increase in the Construction Cost Index (CCI) for Residential Buildings

The Construction Cost Index (CCI) for residential buildings reached 105.89 with an increase of 0.15% in the West Bank* during September 2019 compared with August 2019 (base year 2013=100).

At the level of major groups, labour wages increased by 1.03%, and rental of equipment increased by 0.46%, while the prices of raw materials decreased by 0.41% during September 2019 compared with the previous month.

Slight increase in the Construction Cost Index (CCI) for Non-residential Buildings

The Construction Cost Index (CCI) for non-residential buildings reached 105.66 with a slight increase of 0.09% in the West Bank* during September 2019 compared with August 2019 (base year 2013=100).

At the level of major groups, labour wages increased by 1.03%, and rental of equipment increased by 0.41%, while the prices of raw materials decreased by 0.46% during September 2019 compared with the previous month.

Increase in the Construction Cost Index (CCI) for Skeleton Buildings

The Construction Cost Index (CCI) for skeleton buildings reached 104.55 with an increase of 0.13% in the West Bank* during September 2019 compared with August 2019 (base year 2013=100).

At the level of major groups, labour wages increased by 1.54%, and rental of equipment increased by 0.46%, while the prices of raw materials decreased by 0.56% during September 2019 compared with the previous month.

Decrease in the Road Cost Index (RCI)

The overall Road Cost Index (RCI) reached 109.52 with a decrease of 0.27% in the West Bank* during September 2019 compared with August 2019 (base month December 2008=100).

At the level of major groups, the prices of raw materials decreased by 0.66%, and operating costs of equipment and maintenance slightly decreased by 0.04%, while labour wages increased by 0.87%, and rental of equipment increased by 0.26% during September 2019 compared with the previous month.

Increase in the Water Networks Cost Index (WNCI)

The overall Water Networks Cost Index (WNCI) reached 113.79 with an increase of 0.11% in the West Bank* during September 2019 compared with August 2019 (base month January 2010=100).

Water Networks Cost Index reached 117.20 with an increase of 0.28%, while Water Reservoirs Cost Index reached 106.29 with a decrease of 0.28% during September 2019 compared with the previous month.

Increase in the Sewage Networks Cost Index (SNCI)

The overall Sewage Networks Cost Index (SNCI) reached 110.40 with an increase of 0.49% in the West Bank* during September 2019 compared with August 2019 (base month January 2010=100).

Note:

*Data exclude those parts of Jerusalem which were annexed by Israeli Occupation in 1967.

  2. The differences in the percentage change in major groups of road, construction, water networks, and sewage networks cost indices is due to the nature compositions of these major groups.
