As Palestinians fight coronavirus, the Israeli occupation forces and settlers keep demolish Palestinian houses, attack locals and detain Palestinains on their own land.
- Over the past years, Israeli military has been using the pretext of “attempted murder” to justify the extrajudicial execution of Palestinian civilians at checkpoints and other places in the occupied Palestinian territories.
- Israeli forces kill Palestinian civilians in cold blood under false pretexts. On some occasions, when Israeli police execute a Palestinian, they open a mock investigation, which often ends with no results and with no one brought to trial.
- Israeli forces frequently raid Palestinian houses almost on a daily basis across the West Bank on the pretext of searching for “wanted” Palestinians, triggering clashes with residents.
These raids, which take place also in areas under the full control of the Palestinian Authority, are conducted with no need for a search warrant, whenever and wherever the military chooses in keeping with its sweeping arbitrary powers.
According to Palestinian figures, roughly 5,700 Palestinians — including numerous women and children — are currently languishing in Israeli detention facilities. - Israeli navy and army harassment of Palestinian fishermen and farmers near the borders is an almost daily occurrence aimed at discouraging them from proceeding with fishing, a vital source of income to thousands of Gaza families, and from attending to their lands near the border fence with Israel.
- In the so-called Area C of the occupied West Bank, under complete Israeli control, Israel prohibits almost all kinds of urban and agricultural development for Palestinians. In contrast, Israel argues that building within existing colonial settlements is necessary to accommodate the “natural growth” of settlers. Therefore, it much more easily gives the estimated 550,000 Jewish Israeli settlers there building permits and provides them with roads, electricity, water and sewage systems that remain inaccessible to many neighboring Palestinians.
- Israel has constructed a section of the apartheid wall, which encircles the village from three directions, confiscating and isolating some 4,050 dunams of fertile land for colonial settlement activities and pushing the villagers into a crowded enclave, a ghetto, surrounded by walls, settlements and military installations.
- Israel uses the Jewish nationalist name “Judea and Samaria” to refer to the occupied West Bank to reinforce its bogus claims to the territory and to give them a veneer of historical and religious legitimacy. There are almost 834,000 Israeli settlers living in settlements in the West Bank and East Jerusalem. The number of settlers has almost tripled since the Oslo Accords of 1993, when settlers’ number estimated 252,000. Illegal settlements have leapt from 144 to 515 in that time.

Israeli forces detained a Palestinian minor after shooting with rubber-coated steel bullet and injuring him near the village of Kafr Malik to the East of Ramallah, in the central occupied West Bank.
31 May – Israeli forces seize agricultural tractor north of Hebron
Israeli forces seized an agricultural tractor belonging to a local Palestinian resident in the village of Az Zubeidat to the north of Jericho, the occupied West Bank. Israeli forces seized the tractor and issued the owner a fine of 3500 Shekels (about $897).

Israeli occupation forces informed residents of Birayn, a small village near the town of Yatta to the south of Hebron in the occupied West Bank, about their intention to demolish five residential structures and the building of the village’s council.

30 May – Settlers attack civilians’ homes in Hebron
Illegal Israeli settlers protected by a military escort attacked with stones and empty bottles Palestinian civilians’ homes in the Old City quarter, in the occupied West Bank city of Hebron. Rampaging Jewish settlers accompanied by soldiers forced their way into the area, attacking homes and terrifying their residents, especially children. The settlers also performed provocative tours across the markets of the Old City, terrorizing store-keepers and passengers and threatening them, with the soldiers doing nothing to stop the assaults.
30 May – Two brothers forced to demolish their homes in Jerusalem
Two Palestinian brothers from the occupied Jerusalem neighborhood of Jabal al-Mukaber embarked on demolishing their two homes after they were asked to do so by Israeli municipality to avoid paying exorbitant costs if the municipality carries out the demolition on its own. The two houses demolished were the only shelter for their two families of 11 both.
30 May – In two separate incidents, Israeli forces shoot and injure Palestinians
Israeli police opened fire at a youth, said to be of special needs, outside Lions’ Gate, one of the gates to the old city of Jerusalem that leads into Al-Aqsa Mosque, and injured him. The youth was left bleeding on the ground for a while. In the north of the West Bank, Israeli soldiers shot and injured a 31-year-old Palestinian man at Jabara military checkpoint south of the northern West Bank city of Tulkarm.
29 May – Four Palestinians detained by Israeli army near Nablus
At least four Palestinians were detained and had their vehicle confiscated by Israeli occupation forces near the village of Sebastia, to the north of Nablus in the occupied West Bank. An Israeli army force set up a checkpoint at the entrance to the village, detained the four young men and confiscated their vehicle.
29 May – Israeli troops fatally shoot young man near Ramallah
Israeli occupation forces opened gunfire and killed a Palestinian young man while driving a vehicle near the village of Nabi Saleh, to the west of Ramallah in the occupied West Bank. The forces fired live shots at the vehicle in mysterious circumstances, seriously wounding the driver who succumbed to his wounds a couple of minutes later. Israeli soldiers denied access of medics to the scene to provide the man with first aid before he was announced dead.
29 May – Photojournalist among five people injured in Kafr Qaddum
At least five Palestinians, including a photojournalist, were injured by Israeli occupation forces during the weekly protest against Israeli settlement construction, in the village of Kafr Qaddum in the northern West Bank. Israeli soldiers attacked the protesters by rubber-coated rounds and teargas

29 May – Israeli police detains former Mufti of Jerusalem
Israeli police and intelligence detained today the former Grand Mufti of Jerusalem and current head of the Higher Islamic Council, Sheikh Ekrema Sabri. Sabri, who often gives the Friday sermon at Al-Aqsa, was summoned by Israeli police in January and was handed an order banning him entry to Al-Aqsa Mosque, Islam’s third holiest site, in the city.
29 May – Israel seizes plot of land in Jenin-district town
Israel seized a plot of farmland in Yaabad town, west of the northern West Bank city of Jenin. The Israeli military phoned the landowner and informed him about a military decision to seize his 3.5-dunums ranch, adjacent to the Israeli colonial settlement of Mevo Dotan.

29 May – Israeli army orders halt on road rehabilitation near Bethlehem
Israeli occupation forces ordered today a halt on a road rehabilitation project in the village of Rashaida, to the east of Bethlehem in the occupied West Bank. The Israeli army told workers at the site that the area was under Israeli control, and that work should immediately stop or that the workers would risk being arrested and their equipment confiscated.

The Palestinian Centre for Human Rights has documented 106 violations of international human rights law and international humanitarian law by Israeli forces and settlers in the occupied Palestinian Territories last week.
29 May – Israeli forces prevent call for prayer at Ibrahimi Mosque
Israeli occupation forces prevented today the call for dawn prayer at the flashpoint Ibrahimi Mosque in Hebron, south of the occupied West Bank, as well as denied access of worshipers to the mosque. Dozens of Israeli soldiers deployed around the mosque and intensified their measures at the roads leading there, banning access of worshipers to the site. The forces also dispersed dozens of worshipers who were gathering outside the mosque in order to get a chance to pray there. In the meantime, the Israeli forces prevented the muezzin of the Ibrahimi Mosque from completing the call for dawn prayer and forced him out of the mosque.
28 May – EU missions voice concern over increased Israeli demolitions in West Bank
The European Union missions in Jerusalem and Ramallah expressed concern over an increase in home demolitions by Israeli occupation authorities in the occupied West Bank, including East Jerusalem, in 2020. “These demolitions, including of EU and EU Member States-funded structures, have resulted in the displacement of Palestinians and negatively affected Palestinian communities,” said the EU missions in a statement.
28 May – Six Palestinians told by Israel their homes will be demolished for construction without permit
An Israeli army force broke into the village of al-Tira, southwest of Ramallah and handed six families the demolition orders against their homes claiming that the homes were built without permit in Area C, which is under full Israeli military rule.
28 May – Israeli army detains 8 Palestinians in raids across the West Bank, Jerusalem
The Israeli army detained five people, including two brothers, from the towns of Yabad and Qabatia in the north of the West Bank. In addition, one person was detained from Jalazoun refugee camp near Ramallah, one from Hebron in the south of the West Bank and a third from the East Jerusalem neighborhood of Issawiyeh.

Israeli forces dismantled a number of vegetable stalls in the northern Jordan valley. The stalls were used to sell vegetables, fruits, and other items to travelers on the road. The soldiers confiscated large quantities of fruits and vegetables after dismantling the stalls.
27 May – Israeli forces demolish three structures in Hebron district
Israeli forces escorted a bulldozer into Farsh al-Hawa area, west of Hebron city, where the heavy machinery tore down three agricultural structures, purportedly for being built without permits. Soldiers razed a plot of land planted with summer crops in the same area. Meanwhile, Israeli forces ordered the demolition of three tents in Masafer Yatta in the southern Hebron hills. Forces handed military notices to demolish a residential tent in al-Fakhit community, a tin-sheet structure in al-Markez community besides to a makeshift clinic designed to fight the outbreak of coronavirus at the entrance of Maghayir al-Abeed community.
27 May – Four Palestinians detained from Tulkarem, Ramallah
Israeli military vehicles raided Qiffin town, north of Tulkarem, where soldiers rounded up two Palestinians. A similar Israeli military raid in Faroun town, south of Tulkarem, resulting in the detention of another. Meanwhile, undercover Israeli forces, known as Musta’ribeen, sneaked into Beit Rima village, northwest of Ramallah, using a civilian vehicle, where they kidnapped a Palestinian after storming his house.
27 May – Israel orders halt on construction of structures west of Bethlehem
Israeli forces raided Ein Jowaize area in al-Walaja village, west of the southern West Bank city of Bethlehem, where they handed a villager a military order to stop the construction of his retaining walls. Soldier delivered military orders to stop the construction of several house basements and a water well. They also handed several other villagers notices, ordering them to appear before intelligence for interrogation over the construction of their houses and warehouses.
27 May – Israeli forces demolish house in Nablus-district village
Israeli forces demolished a house under construction in Furush Beit Dajan village, to the east of the occupied West Bank city of Nablus. Israeli forces raided the village and demolished a three-room house under construction, purportedly for being built without a permit.
27 May – Israel demolishes tourist facilities in Nablus district
Israeli forces Wednesday morning demolished two tourist facilities in the northern West Bank district of Nablus. Israeli forces escorted a bulldozer into the town, where the heavy machinery demolished Maxim Land, which belongs to a town resident. Meanwhile, Israeli military vehicles raided the town, where soldiers tore down a tourist facility under construction, close to the Roman amphitheater at the archeological site of Sebastia.
26 May – Israeli settlers seize Palestinian-owned lands east of Ramallah
Israeli settlers, backed by Israeli forces, seized vast areas of land located between the towns of Deir Dibwan and Rammun to the east of Ramallah, in the central occupied West Bank. Dozens of settlers stormed an area between the towns and seized around 47 dunums. Settlers used bulldozers to raze the land belonging to residents from both towns. Israeli forces, who provided the settlers with protection, prevented residents’ access to their lands and forced them to leave the area.
26 May – Israeli forces prevent Muslim worshipers’ access to Ibrahimi mosque
Israeli forces prevented Muslim worshipers’ access to al-Ibrahimi mosque in the southern West Bank city of Hebron. Israeli forces closed all military checkpoints and electronic gates leading to the Ibrahimi Mosque and prevented residents from crossing to reach the mosque for prayer.
26 May – Israel bans Islamic Waqf guard from entering al-Aqsa Mosque for 6 months
Israeli police banned Aqsa Mosque guard from entering al-Aqsa mosque in Jerusalem for six months. Israeli authorities summoned the guard for interrogation and handed him an order banning him from entering the mosque after he opposed the entry of an Israeli police officer into Dome of the Rock, the golden dome mosque within al-Haram al-Sharif (the noble sanctuary) compound that also includes Al-Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem’s Old City.

An Israeli settler ran over and killed three sheep while injuring a dozen others as other settlers set fire to crops in the south of the West Bank.

Israeli settles attacked two Palestinian herders near the Ramallah-area village of al-Mughayyer while they were in the open fields between al-Mughayyer and Turmous Ayya injuring one in the stomach and the other in leg.
25 May – Israeli forces demolish animal barn, tent in south of West Bank
Israeli forces demolished an animal barn and a tent in the Zaatra wilderness, east of the southern West Bank city of Bethlehem, owned by a local Palestinian, under the pretext they were built without a permit, according to Palestinian security sources. The owner was held for several hours before he was released, they said.

Israeli forces rounded up a Palestinian after beating him up at the entrance of the mosque and another from the old city of Hebron. Meanwhile, soldiers manning al-Container checkpoint, northeast of Bethlehem city, stopped and detained a Palestinian identified as a resident of al-Khader town, south of Bethlehem.
24 May – Palestinians fend off settlers’ attack in Nablus-district town
A number of Israeli settlers from Yitzhar, an illegal settlement, opened fire towards a local park in Huwara town, south of Nablus and attempted to ravage it, but their attack was fended off by the town residents.
24 May – Israeli police assault worshipers near Jerusalem’s Al-Aqsa Mosque
Dozens of police attacked Palestinians performing the prayer of Eid al-Fitr holiday, which marks the end of the fasting Ramadan month, at Bab al-Asbat, also known as the Lions’ Gate, which leads to the mosque compound, inflicting bruises across their bodies.

At least two Palestinians sustained light to moderate injuries after a group of rampaging Jewish settlers from the illegal settlement of Halamish attacked them near the village of Deir Nidham, to the northwest of Ramallah.
22 May – Israeli forces detain mother, daughter from Jenin-district town
Over 15 Israeli military vehicles raided Yaabad town, south of the northern West Bank city of Jenin, where soldiers surrounded a local house, dragged a 45-year-old Palestinian mother of eight children along with her 16-year-old daughter out, and ultimately detained them, leading them to the jeeps that were parked near the home. During the raid, gun-toting soldiers ransacked a number of civilian houses, going inside, turning them upside down and assaulting families members. The raid triggered confrontations during which soldiers opened fire towards local protesting teens.
21 May – Israel reducing water supply to four West Bank districts
The Israeli occupation authorities significantly reduced the amount of water alloted to the West Bank districts of Ramallah, Nablus, Jenin, and Hebron, during the past few days. The the Israeli sudden cuts directly affected the amount of water supplied to the public and led to irregular water pressure in the transmission lines, adding that it was put under a great pressure to manage and distribute the available amount of water in a fair manner.

21 May – Two injuries in settlers’ assault in north of West Bank
Two Palestinians were injured after they were attacked by Israeli settlers in the town of Yatma, to the south of the northern West Bank city of Nablus. Israeli settlers from the illegal Israeli settlement of Rahalim threw rocks at the family home of Mohammad Snobar, which resulted in injuring two members of the family, one received a fractured leg and the other cuts in the head.

20 May – Israeli forces seize mobile home in Nablus-district village
Israeli forces Wednesday morning seized a mobile home in Furush Beit Dajan village, located to the east of West Bank city of Nablus. Several Israeli military vehicles stormed the village, where soldiers seized a mobile home belonging to a villager, without any prior notice.
19 May – Israeli police detains two Palestinians in Jerusalem
Israeli police brutally assaulted and detained a Palestinian young man, whose father is the Imam of Al-Aqsa Mosque, at Bab al-Wad Road. Police also arrested one of the Islamic Endowments Authority-appointed guards while he was exercising his duties at the Dome of the Rock inside the mosque complex.
19 May – Palestinian journalist from Gaza detained at crossing with Israel
Israeli forces detained a Palestinian journalist, Muhammad Amin Abu Daqqa, from the besieged Gaza Strip while travelling through the Beit Hanoun / Erez crossing with Israel. Abu Daqqa is a liver cancer patient who receives his treatment at a Jordanian hospital. Israel has closed Erez crossing for all permit holders, including over 5,000 daily workers and traders, only allowing the passage of medical emergency cases and cancer patients, since March 12.
19 May – Israeli forces detain 19 Palestinians in the occupied territories
Israeli forces detained 10 Palestinians in occupied East Jerusalem, most of them from its old city after raiding their homes during the night hours, while detaining this morning a guard of Al-Aqsa Mosque while on the job at the mosque compound.
The army continued its week-long campaign in the northern West Bank town of Yabad, where a soldier was killed last week, and detained two 17-year-old minors and another 23-year-old youth. The army has detained more than 30 people from the town so far.
In addition, soldiers detained two people from the village of Kobar, near Ramallah, where the army demolished a house last week, three from the southern West Bank city of Hebron, including a 17-year-old minor, and a man from the town of Obeidieh in an effort to get his son to turn himself over to the army.
18 May – Israeli forces, settlers jointly destroy West Bank land planted with olive trees
Israeli soldiers and settlers joined forces in destroying 15 dunums of land planted with olive trees in an area located between the villages of Kaffa and Shoufa, southeast of the northern West Bank city of Tulkarm. The army and settlers used 10 bulldozers to destroy the land and uproot the trees and all crops planted there owned by Palestinians who live the village of Kaffa. The army has blocked off all roads leading to this land more than one month ago to prevent its owners from reaching it and as a prelude to taking it over.

17 May – Israeli settlers uproot 40 olive trees near Nablus
Fanatic Israeli settlers uprooted about 40 olive trees in the area of Ras al-Deir in the village of Yatma, to the south of the occupied West Bank city of Nablus.
16 May – West Bank town of Ya’bad under tight siege for fifth day
For the fifth consecutive day, the town of Ya’bad in the north of the occupied West Bank has been under a tight Israeli military siege and crackdown, with Israeli army raiding and ransacking homes and arresting civilians every now and then, especially in the late night hours. Forces cordoned off and shut down all entrances to the town with earth mounds and cement cubes, disconnecting the town from its main neighboring communities. People trying to enter or leave the town using alternative agricultural alleys were also attacked by army forces who transferred the town into a big prison. Entire families, including children, women and elderly, were arrested from their homes and many of them were released later. Others had their homes raided in middle of the night and were beaten by attacking soldiers without stating any reason for that, and some were moved to hospital due to being beaten by soldiers.
16 May – Israeli settlers cut down dozens of olive trees in south of West Bank
Israeli settlers from the illegal settlement of Givout, cut down 40 olive trees in the town of Nahalin, west of the southern West Bank city of Bethlehem.
16 May – For the fifth day in a row, Israeli army raids West Bank town, terrorize residents
For the fifth consecutive day, Israeli soldiers raided the northern West Bank town of Yabad and terrorized its residents, particularly children. Israeli forces detained Suhaila Yousef Abu Baker, 45, and her 16-year-old daughter, Eman. The father, Nathmi Abu Baker, 48, was detained five days ago following the killing of an Israeli soldier in the town when hit by a rock on the head during an army search-and-arrest campaign. The soldiers grabbed the woman from her parents’ house and terrorized the residents, particularly the children when they fired sound bombs inside the house. The forces also raided her brother’s house and ransacked it, said WAFA correspondent.

Israeli naval boats opened gunfire towards a fishing boat sailing within three nautical miles offshore al-Waha area, northwest of Gaza city, injuring the fisherman.
15 May – Settlers attack Palestinian vehicles south of Nablus
Israeli settlers attacked a number of Palestinian vehicles near Burin village, south of the occupied West Bank city of Nablus. A large number of settlers hurled stones at Palestinian vehicles travelling along the road connecting the West Bank cities of Nablus and Qalqilia. They also sneaked their way into Burin village in an attempt to attack the villagers’ houses, but their attack was fended off.
15 May – Five Palestinians detained from Nablus, Qaqilia districts
Israeli soldiers rounded up three Palestinians, including a former prisoner, and seized their vehicle at the entrance of Beita town, south of Nablus city. Meanwhile, Israeli soldiers rounded up two other Palestinians, including a 17-year-old teen, in the proximity of the section of Israel’s apartheid wall built on lands confiscated from Kafr Qaddum village, east of Qalqilia city.
15 May – Israeli forces seal off entrances to Jenin-district town
Israeli forces sealed off all entrances to Ya’bad town, west of Jenin city, four days after a soldier was killed when someone dropped a large rock on his head during an overnight raid in the town. Leila Hamarsheh, a local journalist, confirmed that soldiers stormed her family’s house after detonating the main door, and abused her family members, including her father, a disabled person, who spent 14 years in Israeli imprisonment.

A Palestinian young man was shot dead by Israeli occupation forces for allegedly attempting to attack them by ramming his car into them outside the town of Beit Awwa, to the west of Hebron city in the occupied West Bank.

Israeli forces seized residential tents and a solar panel in al-Ras Bedouin community, west of the eastern West Bank ancient city of Jericho. A large force raided the village, dismantled two residential tents and a third one used as a shelter for sheep, and a solar panel the owner of the tents used to generate electricity for his private use and seized them.

Israeli forces demolished animal barns and seized water pipes in al-Ras al-Ahmar and al-Buqeiah villages in the northern Jordan Valley. Soldiers also raided al-Ras al-Ahmar and demolished animal barns owned by a local resident.

Israeli navy attacked Palestinian fishermen in the northern Gaza shores without causing any damage or injuries. The navy first fired several shells into the sea before shooting directly at the boats forcing them to return to the harbor.

A Palestinian was shot and injured and dozens other suffocated from Israeli military gunfire in a renewed raid in Ya’bad town, west of Jenin city. Israeli military forces barged their way into the town, as part of the ongoing manhunt for a Palestinian who killed a soldier by dropping a rock on his head a day earlier, triggering confrontations. Soldiers opened gunfire towards local villagers who protested the raid, injuring one with a live round in his foot and causing dozens others to suffocate from tear gas inhalation. They also ransacked several houses in the town besides to a local institution and checked the recordings of their surveillance cameras. One villager was detained for denying soldiers access to the recordings of the surveillance cameras installed on his store.

Israeli forces raided the archaeological site of Nabi Saleh, to the east of Idhna town, west of the occupied West Bank city of Hebron. The sources confirmed that Israeli soldiers escorted staff from the Israeli Department of Antiques into the archeological site, and toured the surrounding area. Palestinian villagers voiced concerns over the Israeli occupation authorities’ intentions to take over the area that’s regularly raided by fanatic Jewish settlers.

The Israeli army detained 14 people from Yabad in an ongoing search-and-arrest campaign following the killing of an Israeli soldier in the town yesterday. More detentions are expected.
Three Palestinian minors aged 16 years were also detained in the southern West Bank city of Bethlehem, in addition to three others from the nearby Hebron district.
In the north of the West Bank, the army detained the son of a prisoner in the town of Beit Furik, near Nablus, and another was detained in Aqbat Jabr refugee camp in Jericho, east of the West Bank.

12 May – Palestinian youth shot and detained near Jerusalem
A Palestinian youth was injured from Israeli military gunfire and detained near the military checkpoint of Qalandiya, to the north of the occupied city of Jerusalem. Soldiers closed off the checkpoint and prevented people and vehicles from crossing in both direction.
12 May – Israeli forces detain 33 Palestinians in West Bank raids
Israeli forces conducted a predawn raid into Ya’bad town, west of Jenin city, resulting in the detention of four Palestinians. An Israeli soldier was killed by a rock dropped on his head during the predawn raid that triggered violent confrontations in the town. Following the killing of the soldier, Israeli troops re-raided the town is search of the person who dropped the rock. The soldiers ransacked several houses in the town, interrogated residents and rounded up 12 others, including two families; a couple with their daughter and grandchild besides to another couple with three of their children.
In Jerusalem district, undercover Israeli forces, known as Musta’ribeen, ambushed and detained 13 Palestinians in the Jerusalem neighborhood of Silwan.
The Palestine Prisoner’s Society (PPS) confirmed a similar overnight military raid in Abu Dis town, east of Jerusalem, resulting in the detention of two others. In Ramallah district, soldiers re-detained a Palestinian after ransacking his family house in Silwad town, east of Ramallah city. PPS added that another was rounded up from the southern West Bank district of Hebron.

The Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates said in a statement that it strongly condemns the Israeli decision to extend the closure of Palestine TV office in Jerusalem for six months and to ban its staff from doing any work for the official television station, describing it as “a flagrant violation of international law and international legality and its resolutions, which affirm that East Jerusalem is an integral part of the Occupied Palestinian Territory since 1967, and a flagrant violation of freedom of opinion, expression and freedom of the press guaranteed by international humanitarian law.”
12 May – Israeli army breaches Gaza border, navy attacks fishermen at sea
Israeli army vehicles and tanks breached the Gaza borders in the central Gaza Strip east of Bureij refugee camp and razed land while blocking the area with dirt mounds. Israeli navy also opened live fire and water hoses on fishermen’s boats sailing with the allowed three nautical miles in the northern Gaza shore causing damage to one boat but no injuries.
11 May – Israel orders halt on construction of houses, park in Bethlehem-district town
Israeli forces ordered a halt on the construction of some 13 houses and a park in Nahalin town, located to the west of the southern West Bank city of Bethlehem. An Israeli military force and staff of the so-called Israeli Civil Administration raided the town, and handed notices to eight Palestinian villagers, ordering them to halt the construction of their houses, at least three of which are inhabited, purportedly for being built without licenses. The soldiers also ordered a stop on the construction of a public park and retaining walls in the same town.
11 May – Israel continues to censor Palestine TV’s operation in Jerusalem, extends its closure order
The Israeli authorities continued to censor Palestine TV’s operation in occupied Jerusalem by extending its closure order for six more months, a step considered as infringement on freedom of the press. Israel’s Public Security Minister Gilad Erdan, issued the order the first time six months ago, closing Palestine TV’s office in East Jerusalem and banning its staff from doing any work for the official TV station under the threat of arrest and paying fines. However, this did not stop Palestine TV from working underground in the occupied city despite the order, as admitted by Erdan in his extension of closure order. Israel is trying to ban any work for the Palestinian Authority (PA) in the occupied city and has pursued and detained officials, closed several offices and banned political, social, cultural, sports and economic activities in the city under the pretext the event was sponsored by the PA.

The Israeli army ordered a Palestinian farmer to stop construction of an agricultural structure in his land in Sahl al-Buqeiah, south of the Jordan Valley city of Tubas under the pretext he does not have a building permit.
11 May – Israeli military vehicles infiltrate southern Gaza Strip borders, raze land
Israeli military vehicles infiltrated the southern borders of the Gaza Strip east of Khan Yunis, razed land and placed dirt mounds while opening fire in the air before returning to the bases.
11 May – Israeli army demolishes West Bank family home of Palestinian detainee
Israeli soldiers raided early the Ramallah-area village of Kobar and demolished the family home of a Palestinian detainee. A large army force raided the village and proceeded to the area where the home of Qassam Barghouti, who is detained in Israel on charges of taking part in the alleged killing of an Israeli last year, where an army bulldozer demolished the top floor of the two-story building of the Barghouti family and destroyed trees around it. Residents clashed with the soldiers during the raid and pelted them with stones, who responded by firing rubber bullets and teargas at the youths, hitting one in the face with a teargas canister. The army informed the Barghouti family on February 11 of its intention to demolish its home as a punishment for its son’s action. Qassam’s mother, Widad Barghouti, a media instructor at Birzeit University, was also detained on September 1 of last year following the arrest of her son. She was recently released.
10 May – Israeli forces fire shots at a worker near Tulkarm
A Palestinian worker was injured after he was shot by Israeli forces near the Israeli Segregation Barrier, to the west of the town of Far’un in the occupied West Bank governorate of Tulkarm. Israeli soldiers fired live gunshots at the worker, who is yet to be identified, as he was attempting to pass through a gate in the Segregation Barrier, allocated for the entry of Palestinian workers into the 1948 land. The worker was injured in the foot, and people who tried to offer him help were prevented from doing so by the forces. Meanwhile, the other workers were barred from going to their workplace in the 1948 land after the soldiers closed off the gate.
09 May – Jewish settlers cut down olive trees near Ramallah
Extremist Jewish settlers chopped down around 40 olive trees belonging to Palestinians in the village of Al-Mughayyir, near the city of Ramallah in the occupied West Bank. The trees belonged to two Palestinian villagers from Al-Mughayyir. Israeli soldiers who were patrolling the scene reportedly prevented the two villagers from entering their farm and inspecting the damaged trees.
09 May – Israeli army roadblock disrupts movement of Palestinians in Jerusalem-area village
The Israeli army have set up a roadblock at the entrance to a village northwest of occupied Jerusalem since the start of the holy fast month of Ramadan and obstructed movement of people in an out of the village. The army has intensified its measures of recent to even prevent entry of essential food supplies into the village, allowing only a reduceded amount in. Beit Iksa is surrounded by illegal Israeli settlements and has lost most of its land to the settlements and the barrier Israel has built since 2004 that cuts it from Jerusalem. Residents of the village going in and out have to use the only road that is controlled by the army.
09 May – Palestinians confront Israeli soldiers after raiding northern West Bank city
Palestinians confronted Israeli soldiers who broke into the northern sections of the city of Qalqilya in the north of the West Bank. Soldiers raided the city and set up a military post in its northern end, provoking residents and prompting confrontations. The soldiers fired flairs in the area and attacked the residents.
09 May – Israeli forces attempt to remove a Palestinian anti-corona post in south of West Bank
Israel soldiers apparently not happy with the sight of a Palestinian flag attacked a post set up by local volunteers to check people for coronavirus in the village of Khillet al-Mayeh. The soldiers attacked the post in an attempt to remove a Palestinian flag raised at the post. The volunteers confronted the soldiers and prevented them from interfering in their work or removing the flag.
08 May – Israeli forces injure four Palestinians in Kafr Qaddum
At least four Palestinians were injured by Israeli occupation forces today during the weekly protest against Israeli settlement construction, which took place in the village of Kafr Qaddum in the northern West Bank. Israeli soldiers raided the village, provoking clashes with protesters. The forces fired live bullets at the protesters injuring four of them. Other civilians also sustained suffocation from teargas fired by the forces.

Over 10 fanatic Israeli settlers assaulted a Palestinian shepherd as he was grazing his flock of sheep close to the evacuated illegal Israeli colonial settlement of Homesh, which was built on land belonging to Burqa villagers, and stole 70 of his sheep.
06 May – Gaza fishermen come under fire from Israeli navy
Israeli navy boats opened live fire and water hoses at Palestinian fishermen sailing in the northern Gaza shore forcing them to return to the port and causing damage to at least one boat. The fishermen were sailing three nautical miles off shore.
06 May – Israeli settlers seize Palestinian land in south of West Bank to build a road
For the second day in a row, settlers have been levelling land near Dura town owned by two local Palestinian families in order to build a road for the settlement of Negehot, built illegally on Dura land.
06 May – Israeli artillery bombards sites in Gaza Strip
The Israeli artillery bombarded several locations in the north of the Gaza Strip causing damage but no injuries. Artillery shells fell on two sites south of Gaza City and another one north of the city. Israel said the shelling came after a projectile was fired from Gaza and fell in an open area in the south of Israel without causing any damage or injury.
05 May – Israel halts construction of houses in Tulkarem-district village
Israeli forces issued notices to stop the construction of several Palestinian houses in Aqabah village, to the north of the occupied West Bank city of Tulkarm. Israeli military vehicles stormed the village, where soldiers and officers of the so-called Israeli Planning Committee handed six villagers notices, ordering them to halt the construction of their houses despite the fact that the homeowners possess proper land ownership documentation. The houses, some of which are already built and ready to be inhabited, are located at the village entrance and are one-kilometer away from the section of the Israeli unilaterally-built apartheid wall.
05 May – Israel to demolish house in Jenin-district village
Israeli forces notified a Palestinian of their intention to demolish his house in Thaher al-‘Abed village of the Yaabad town, located to the southwest of the northern West Bank city of Jenin.
Israeli forces stormed the village and handed Ameed Amarneh a military notice, informing his of their intention to demolish his house under construction purportedly for being located in proximity to the section of Israeli unilaterally-built wall. Amarneh was given 15 days until May 20th to submit a written appeal against the demolition of his house.
05 May – Israeli forces detain 13 Palestinians in occupied East Jerusalem, including leading figures
Israeli forces rounded up 13 Palestinians in occupied East Jerusalem, including leading figures and activists. Among the detained were Bilal Natsheh, who heads the National Popular Conference in Jerusalem, and his office manager, Muath Ashhab, Mustafa Abu Zahra, who is in charge of the city’s Muslim cemeteries in the Awqaf department, journalist Tamer Obeidat, writer Rania Hatem, activists Imad Awad and Jad al-Ghoul.
Israeli police claimed it raided homes of and detained activists who were doing work in confronting the coronavirus outbreak in the occupied city on behalf of the Palestinian Authority and seized their computers and cellular phones, along with other materials found in their homes.
The Israeli forces detained as well six other Palestinian residents of Issawiyeh neighborhood of East Jerusalem after raiding and searching their homes.
04 May – Israel detains 10 Palestinians, including two brothers, in West Bank raids
Five Palestinians were detained in the Hebron district in the south of the West Bank, among them two brothers from the town of Dura who are former prisoners in Israel.
Two Palestinians were detained in the village of Quffin, one in Marka village and one from the city of Nablus in the north of the West Bank, and one more from the Ramallah-area village of Abu Shkheidem.
04 May – Israel demolishes agricultural structure in Jordan Valley
The Israeli army forces raided the Jordan Valley village of Tayasir, east of the city of Tubas and proceeded to demolish the small structure with an area of 36 square meters and which had an aluminum ceiling under the pretext it was built without a permit.
04 May – Youth shot and injured by Israeli soldiers in West Bank refugee camp
Israeli soldiers opened fire at a group of youths who were at the cemetery of Aqbat Jabr refugee camp in the eastern West Bank city of Jericho hitting one in the leg.
03 May – Israeli forces order demolition of two homes in Salfit
Israeli occupation forces ordered a halt on the construction of residential structures and their subsequent demolition. The structures, which include two homes, are owned by residents of the village of Qarawat Bani Hassan, to the west of the occupied West Bank city of Salfit.
The occupation authorities handed two Palestinians an order to stop construction of their two houses and demolish them, while a third resident was handed a demolition order for his residential shack.
Meanwhile, Israeli soldiers chased farmers and shepherds while working near the village, claiming that they were close to the neighboring illegal Israeli settlements.
03 May – Israeli forces detain 10 Palestinians in Jerusalem, Qalqilia
Israeli police forces raided and searched several populated homes in al-Issawiya in middle of the night, before detaining seven of their residents, including a former prisoner in Israeli jails.
In Qalqilia Governorate, north of the West Bank, Israeli army broke into the village of Azzun and detained three local Palestinians, aged 27, 21 and 18 respectively, after raiding their homes in the village.
02 May – Israeli army prevents farmers in West Bank from ploughing their land
Farmers went to their land in the village of al-Sawiyeh to plough it in order to plant it when Israeli soldiers stopped them and ordered them to leave it under the pretext it was state land. The army would not let the farmers work in their lands because they want to keep it for settlement expansion as settlers often cut trees and encroach on the Palestinian land.
02 May – Israeli navy opens fire at Palestinian fishermen as army attacks farmers in Gaza Strip
Israeli navy boats opened fire and water hoses at fishermen sailing three nautical miles off the northern Gaza shore forcing them to return to shore. In the south of the Gaza Strip, Israeli soldiers fired teargas canisters at Palestinian farmers attending to their lands east of Khan Younis, also forcing them to leave the area before being harmed.
01 May – Dozens suffocate in Israeli military raid in northern West Bank
Israeli military vehicles stormed a refugee camp in Tulkarem, where the soldiers opened fire towards civilian houses, causing dozens, including children, to suffocate from tear inhalation. During the raid, soldiers ransacked the family house of a 19-year-old Palestinian who was shot and detained purportedly after carrying out a stabbing attack in Kfar Saba town, northeast of Tel Aviv, in central Israel, last Tuesday.
