Embassy of the State of Palestine participates in Hungarian Elections Briefing and Serbia Statehood Day

Budapest |20.02.2026 – On behalf of H.E. Dr. Fadi Elhusseini, Ambassador of the State of Palestine to Hungary, Diplomat Sofia Duaibes participated in two official engagements reflecting the Embassy’s continued active presence, as she attended a high-level briefing on Hungary’s upcoming parliamentary elections, scheduled for 12 April 2026, during which the Presidents of the National Election Office and the National Election Commission outlined the legal framework, the state of preparations, and arrangements for international election observation. In addition, diplomat Duaibes attended the official reception marking Serbia’s Statehood Day, hosted by the Embassy of the Republic of Serbia in Budapest, which brought together representatives of state institutions and the diplomatic community, highlighted the historical significance of the 1804 uprising, and underscored the importance of preserving endangered Serbian Christian monuments and cultural heritage.

Raising Palestine flag in different Hungarian cities

30.09.2022: On Palestinian Flag Day, a Palestinian flag was raised simultaneously in several Hungarian cities. The Embassy of the State of Palestine in Hungary, Fatah in Hungary, and the Palestinian students participated in this symbolic move, which coincides with the day when the President of the State of Palestine, Mahmoud Abbas, hoisted the flag of Palestine for the first time at the United Nations Headquarters in New York, along with the flags of the Member States in 2015.
