The International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People is a day that doesn’t mean we are celebrating an event, yet to remember the day when the General Assembly of the United Nations divided Historical Palestine in to two states, resolution 181 in 1947. Hitherto, this date marks the beginning of a new chapter of Palestinian misery, diaspora and struggle at the same time.

The Erekat family mourns the tragic death of our son Ahmad Erekat, who was killed in cold blood by the Israeli occupation on June 23, 2020. Our son Ahmad is the eleventh Palestinian to be killed this year alone, and among hundreds slain in the past two years, as a result of Israel’s extrajudicial shoot-to-kill policy. As individuals, families, international organizations, and states, we must work together to put a stop to Israel’s repeated cold-blooded killings of Palestinians.

Palestine, just like the whole world, struggles with the spread of the coronavirus. As Palestinians fight corona, the Israeli occupation forces and settlers keep demolish Palestinian houses, attack locals and detain innocent Palestinains.

Israeli occupation forces and settlers keep demolishing Palestinian houses, attack locals and detain Palestinains on their own land on a daily basis.

The Israeli political regime has united on the agenda of permanent colonization and annexation. It is now very clear that Israeli political parties are unequivocally committed to the entrenchment and permanence of the conflict as well as the perpetual oppression of the Palestinian people with the full support and backing of the Trump administration, which is clearly intent on implementing its dangerous and objectionable plan. Annexation is a declaration of permanent aggression on inalienable Palestinian rights and the standing of international law.
