On Flag Day

Raising Palestine flag in different Hungarian cities

30.09.2022: On Palestinian Flag Day, a Palestinian flag was raised simultaneously in several Hungarian cities. The Embassy of the State of Palestine in Hungary, Fatah in Hungary, and the Palestinian students participated in this symbolic move, which coincides with the day when the President of the State of Palestine, Mahmoud Abbas, hoisted the flag of Palestine for the first time at the United Nations Headquarters in New York, along with the flags of the Member States in 2015.

Press Statement

The embassy of the State of Palestine in Hungary deeply regrets the recent remarks by H.E. Foreign Minister Péter Szijjártó regarding the escalating aggression by Israel, the occupying Power, in Occupied Palestine.

On May 1st, Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) attacked peaceful Christian worshipers and denied them their basic right to celebrate the Holy Fire ceremony, at the Sepulchre Church in Jerusalem. One week ago, until now, IOF assaulted residents and solidarity protesters who rejected occupation’s plans to evict Palestinian families from their homes in Sheikh Jarrah neighbourhood. Few days ago, IOF raided Al-Aqsa Mosque, surrounded and indiscriminately fired at defenceless worshippers and bystanders, injuring hundreds.

Identical Letters to Parliament and Government on Jerusalem

Budapest – Acting Head of Mission of the Embassy of the State of Palestine to Hungary, Dr. Fadi Elhusseini, sent identical letters to the Hungarian Parliament and Ministry of Foreign Affairs and trade, in addition to other letters addressed to parties, non-governmental organizations, and media about Israel’s attempt to disrupt Palestinian elections within the occupied city of Jerusalem.

Palestinian Prisoner’s Day

On Palestinian’s Prisoners day, Palestine, leadership and people, reiterate their faithful commitment to the cause of our prisoners. Our prisoners courageously stood against the illegal, colonial and prolonged occupation. As such, the State of Palestine will continue supporting this cause at every available international opportunity.

Ahmed Erakat

Erekat Family Statement on the extrajudicial killing of its Son, Ahmad Erekat

The Erekat family mourns the tragic death of our son Ahmad Erekat, who was killed in cold blood by the Israeli occupation on June 23, 2020. Our son Ahmad is the eleventh Palestinian to be killed this year alone, and among hundreds slain in the past two years, as a result of Israel’s extrajudicial shoot-to-kill policy. As individuals, families, international organizations, and states, we must work together to put a stop to Israel’s repeated cold-blooded killings of Palestinians.
